Update Application

It’s easy to keep your WikiReader up-to-date with the most recent WikiReader content and features. The free Update Application downloads updates to your PC for convenient transferring to WikiReader.

What You Need to Get Started

Download the Update Application here:

Internet access is required and broadband is highly recommended as the updates can be quite large (4GB +). Manual downloads are available here in torrent format.

Notes: To use Project Gutenberg and English Wikipedia together you will need a 16 GB memory card.

Project Gutenberg on WikiReader contains the eBooks from http://gutenberg.org but not http://gutenberg.cc.

Battery Door 1. Open the back battery door.
Slide the door in the direction of the arrow.

2. Remove the two AAA batteries.

SD Card3. Remove the memory card.
You will see a thin black strip (labeled SD in the illustration at right) in the battery compartment. This is the memory card. Press down on the card to partially eject it, then gently remove it. If you are a subscriber, insert your new card, replace the batteries, and close the door. If you have downloaded the update files, go to Step 4.

4. Transfer the update to the memory card.
Place the card in a microSD card reader that is connected to your computer. The Update Application will then automatically transfer the necessary files to your memory card.

5. Replace the memory card.

6. Replace the batteries and close the door.
